High Plains Wind Energy is a dealer of Bergey, Entegrity, and Skystream wind turbines. Depending on our analysis of your needs and situation, we can recommend a turbine from among these highly reliable manufacturers. Wind turbines are built to provide virtually maintenance-free service and electricity for at least thirty years.
We will install and/or provide technical support in the following states, including Indian reservations within: South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Montana.

High Plains Wind Energy is a family-owned business located in windy Lawrence County, South Dakota. Matt and Becky Rankin founded HPWE in 2005. We also have a facility in Manderson, South Dakota, overseen by branch manager Mike Fire Thunder.
Our Lawrence County office is tailored to the remote farmstead/ranching needs of that area, whereas the Manderson branch serves the progressive energy projects of the Lakota Indian Community, including a commitment to the development of industrial hemp production.
A 1996 graduate of Western Dakota Technical Institute, Matt Rankin is a licensed South Dakota Electrician, and takes an active role in apprenticing employees and volunteers in the electrical field.
High Plains Wind Energy encourages healthy communities based on clean energy, including bio-fuels for transportation, heating, and industry. Sustainable living through education, community garden projects, and teamwork are our goals.
